Goals are.....

84 comments:

  1. Goals are the achievements that a person gains through effort. We set goals for ourselves that we strive to accomplish on a daily basis. One must have an open and imaginative mindset when setting goals, in order to strive for the very best. I set goals for myself that I want to achieve in the near future. I want to be a happily successful person, raise a family, and have a loving husband. If you don't set goals for yourself you will not strive to obtain anything.

  2. Goals are dreams that a person believes are realistic and attainable. They are something a person must work toward in order to achieve. Whether short-term or long-term, difficult or simple, all goals require some effort. I feel that the more challenging a goal is, the more rewarding it is to succeed. When it comes to goals, many people have the will to win, but not as many have the will to work. Goals worth planning and reaching for deserve the time and dedication put in. So many elements must be thought out and done in order to achieve goals.

  3. goals are dreams that you want to obtain or things that you have already achieved. They can be anything ranging from small goals like not being late for school to big ones like raising money for those in need. We set goals that we imagine ourselves doing or want to do. The best way to obtain a goal is to work hard and set up a plan that you will use to get there.

  4. goals are dreams, things you want to accomplish, things you want to see yourself doing in the short time future or long term future...they can be anything from wanting to ace a vocab quiz tomorrow to becoming the future president of the united states; goals can be things you have already achieved or, as said before, things you want to do in the future.

  5. Goals are "an observable and measurable end result having one or more objectives to be achieved within a more or less fixed timeframe." (Bussiness Dictionary.) In a simple phrase, a goal is "a dream with a deadline." The process of setting a goal is deciding exactly what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve the result you desire. Setting a goal requires a two step process, you have to decide what you want to do and have to work at accomplishing whatever goal you have set for yourself. An example of a goal is planning on acing a test, and the way to achieve this goal is studying the material every night so you have a good grasp on the information.

  6. Goals are things that we create for ourselves so that we may better ourselves. A goal can be big or small, short term or long term. I would consider a goal something that has a strong possibility of being achieved if a plan is made to achieve it. Whereas dreams or aspirations seem more distant, goals are concrete things that we can work towards every day. I think goals are absolutely necessary in people's lives because without that we have nothing to work towards and our actions have no purpose. I like to set high, but always practical, goals for myself so that I am constantly trying to do my best, and even if I don't achieve my goal I have accomplished a lot along the way.

  7. Goals are what we strive for in our lives. They are what we want for ourselves to better ourselves and our lives. They can be long term or short term, big or small, it doesn't matter. They are important to us in some way and we take small steps to achieving them. Our goals mean a lot to us and say a lot about who we are and what our outlook on life is.

  8. Goals are a mindset. If you have the "I can do this attitude" no realistic goal is unachievable. When you have a defeatist attitude, the word goals takes on a completely different definition. Say if I was the best soccer player in the world but I didn't believe in myself even though I wished to be a professional soccer player. Even though to everyone else that goal seems within my reach, If I am not confident in myself then it would be impossible to achieve.

  9. Goals are one of the many driving forces in our lives. They are what we strive for and what we are determined to achieve. They are realistic and achievable dreams that we envision in our minds. In order to truly fulfill this dream or goal, we must make up a plan and follow through. Goals are what helps us shape who we are and assists in our becoming of who we are called to be.

  10. Goals are things we want to accomplish for the better. Most goals are realistic. Whereas a dream, to me, is an improbable goals. Goals can cover a wide variety of desires. It could be long term, or short term; it could be simple or complex. No matter what kind of goal you have for yourself, you need to have a plan to achieve it, and work at it.

  11. Goals are things that we want to accomplish in our lives. Sometimes our goals can be things that we need time to work through but eventually they can be reached. Goals help you reach your potential. When you finally reach your goal then you feel great that you were able to accomplish something. Goals can be big or small. Some are short term while others take longer to reach. Goal reaching helps you advance in your life and helps you grow as a person.

  12. Goals are things I have to work towards to accomplish. In order to accomplish a long-term goal I have to keep it at the front of my mind. For instance, a goal I have for junior year is to achieve a 90 average. So I wrote "90 average" in really big letters on a piece of paper and hung it up on the wall above my desk in my room. It keeps the goal at the front of my mind, and reminds me to stay on track with my work. Goals are awesome things to have. They can make you a better person if you achieve them. And even if you don't, the process of setting and working on a goal can change you. Goals are great, as long as they're attainable and as long as they don't consume your whole life.

  13. Goals are practical and tangible things in our live that we strive to achieve for bettering ourselves. Goals can be big or small, hard or easy, short term or long term but all goals require work. We must be strong-minded and determined. To achieve the sensible goals that we set for ourselves we must be positive. With a positive attitude we can achieve any realistic goal that we set. Our goals give purpose or meaning to the actions we perform in our everyday lives. I have goals set for myself and by being focused on the end result and taking the proper steps and preparations, I can achieve my goals. In my opinion, the harder you work to achieve your goals the more rewarding the end result will be.

  15. Goals are hopes that we all plan to achieve. They are things that we have to work for in order to accomplish. Some goals can be harder to achieve than others. Everyone has different goals and we can have more than one goal. In order to make our goals successful, we have to make a plan to carry out to help us. Goals help people stay determined to complete something. The goals we make can have a big effect, small effect, or no effect on our lives in general. We can all make up goals about anything, but the important part is trying our best to achieve them.

  16. A goal is an end toward which effort is directed. People make goals to achieve during their life. Goals allow us to work towards something we care about, or to create change. In my life, i personally make different types of goals. i try to set high standards for myself, and to reach my goals. they help me learn more about myself, and it is a way to examine my strengths and weaknesses.

  17. Goals are a series of affairs or actions that people strive to achieve in life. Goals give us something in life to look forward to and put in effort for. Without any goals our life will be some what meaning less. Some goals can be short- team, and others long- term, some can be easy to achieve where as others can take a life time. Making goals is a way to challenge yourself to achieve certain things in life.

  18. Goals things that people set for themselves or for others to achieve sometime during their lives. Goals can vary. Some goals are more important than others at different points in time. For example, right now most teens set goals for themselves that involve passing their classes or getting their license. Then when people grow in age and maturity, people set higher goals for themselves that will effect every aspect of their lives. Why do we set goals? We set goals to keep ourselves striving and reaching for something. Goals help us make a commitment to something, and when others doubt that we will stick to these commitments that we make, we have a chance to prove them wrong.

  19. According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary a goal is “the terminal point of a race or the act or the end toward which effort is directed.” However, to me a goal is so much more than this simple definition. We make short term goals and long term goals for ourselves daily. Sometimes these goals are realistic and sometimes they are not. Sometimes these goals cause us to achieve success and sometimes these same goals cause us to experience failure. But I believe that at the end of the day our goals are the expectations that we have for ourselves that define who we are. Our goals are a reflection of our beliefs and a result of our decisions. Our goals represent who we are and what is important to us. It is only once we understand this that we can look at our goals as “the terminal point of a race or the act or the end toward which effort is directed.”

  22. Goals are standards. They help us live up to our expectations by providing motivation. Goals vary from achieving minor short-term goals to big extravagant things. Goals set a high bar that when you achieve it you feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. It is good to set goals because they entice people to follow through with their high hopes. Goals are like high hopes that you would like to overcome.

  23. Goals are the personal ambitions that create in each of us, a general inner drive to achieve. Goals can be large, or small, short-term, or long-term. A person can set an innumerable and unlimited amount of goals for themselves and others in one lifetime, and in fact, the more a person sets, the more apt for success they become. They push us to accomplish, or even just have the motivation to accomplish. In this light, goals are indispensable.

  24. Goals are the ambitions that we hope to achieve by making them happen ourselves. They are the standards of accomplishment that we hold ourselves to and strive to meet. They are what keep us moving in a certain direction, and what motivate us to put effort towards certain areas of our life in order to achieve them. They can be large or small, tangible or intangible, but they are monumental in that they push us to achieve what we personally consider to be success in any area of our life and can help us to become the person we wish to become.

  25. Goals are mental aspirations that one is motivated to achieve. Goals can range from being simple like losing 5 pounds or can be more complex like getting a college degree. Everyone has had or has a goal(s) in life in which they hope to achieve. There are some goals that will be achieved and there are some goals that will never be achieved. I think the most rewarding thing in life is achieving a goal. The moment in which goals are met is a fantastic time in someone’s life. I believe God places those moments in our lives to re-insure us and show us what we are capable of doing.

  33. Goals are achievements that one dreams of that can be reached with time, patience and effort. Goals are usually a certain state that one cannot reach easily, but with struggle and challenge. When a person reaches a goal, one feels as if they have added something to his/her life because a goal is not something that is experienced everyday. Goals help you become a stronger person in everyday life. No matter how insignificant the goal may seem, there is a reason behind it and you should reach for your goals. If you set high goals, then there is the possibility for a greater reward, but also a possibility for more disappointment. But often the possibility for reward outshines the possibility for disappointment. Goals are meant to motivate you, goals are set by you, and they are not meant to stress you out.

  37. Goals are anything in which you aspire to do or be. We set goals for ourselves usually to improve on something we are not so good at. Therefore I think goals are positive. In order to achieve these goals, one usually comes up with a goal plan to make it possible to accomplish what their goals are. Example's of goals are to get a better grade in a particular class, to lose weight, or even to be nicer to your family. 38. A goal; noun- the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; an aim. One's goals are directly influenced by their daily choices and their likes and dislikes. A goal can include a variety of different things, such as aspiring to become the starting goalie on your high school's soccer team or even striving to obtain an A in that extremely difficult AP Bio class. However, a goals benefits are not always tangible. Working hard to achieve specific aspirations can, in fact, build a persons character from the inside out. This is merely because, after becoming fully aware of one's accomplishments, that person can then realize that anything is possible if they simply set their mind to it.

There are many reasons why a goal can be deterred (physical, mental, personal), but in reality there is always a way to achieve a goal, you just may not want it badly enough. Goals are personal, and cannot be influenced by other people such as parents or teachers, because if you don’t want that goal, you’re not going to work your hardest for it. 51. Goals are things that we want to achieve for ourselves. They're something that we obtain by using our "imagination's eye", in order to see what could happen to us positively in the future. Goals are then what we set for ourselves to achieve because of these foresights. Without goals, we wouldn't really have clear ideas about what we want to do in our lives, and we wouldn't have any desires that we want to achieve. Goals are our aspirations to be or do something more. The goals we choose lay the foundation for the life we choose to live, and since each person has different goals, each person lives their life differently from someone else. Goals are usually what we want for ourselves or those around us, and not what others are forcing upon us, or are begging us to do. 53. Goals are an integral part of human life. Goals are the most motivating cause for action. People don't do anything unless they have a reason to do it. For example, if my goal was to get an A in history, and I studied history for an hour every night, it would be because that action contributes to my goal. I think it's very important for everyone to have goals. They don't need to be huge, life-changing goals, they just need to aim towards a better place. For me, every day is a series of small goals. When I wake up in the morning, I can say that my little goal for the day is to be a littler nice to my parents. But at the same time, I'm also working towards my bigger goal of keeping my grades up. And while I'm doing that, this one day is still a small step in my long-term goal of becoming a doctor. So I definitely think goals are a huge part of life. Without them, life would essentially have no purpose.

  54. Goals are the thing in our lives we want to accomplish. However making goals and achieving goals are two completely different things. It is easy for people say they want to do something, but it is hard for people to actually do it. For example, at school, many people say that their goal is to get good grades this year. But unless they do their homework, pay attention in class, and study for their tests and quizzes, they will most likely not achieve their goal of getting good grades. The goal could even be to fix a negative aspect of your life or personality. Making a habit of constantly setting reasonable goals for yourself will make you a better person; whether you are able to reach them all or not doesn't really matter.
